Due to the Phase II (Heightened Alter), WWS only did two virtual programmes last week. We did our first session of Virtual Learning Journey for 47 new citizens, collaborating with MCCY and Empact (see photos). We also did a Virtual WWE@Lower Seletar for Admiralty Secondary School sponsored by NWCDC.
On Saturday afternoon, the first session of our members’ talk during P2H -Dairy Event: Plastic Pollution was successfully conducted. A total of 22 pax attended the session, including 4 members of the public (see photo).
Our next session is scheduled this coming Sunday, 8th.Aug. (Pang Sua) at 3pm to 4pm. Apart from the virtual sharing for members, we also launched the LITTER PICKING: RELAY MARATHON targeting members. We sincerely invite our members to participate and do plogging within your neighborhood together.

Over the week, all patrols were cancelled, only a few members came for maintenance work.
On Thursday two members came to Jurong Branch. One of them did boat maintenance and the other went on a surveillance ride (see photos). Leftover food packages were still easily found in the park area despite Heightened Alter.
On Sunday morning, a total of 5 members came to Kallang Office, they washed boat WWS#4 and did gardening.
At Jurong Lake, one member and her family (5 pax including driver) did a boat cleanup and picked up 15kg of litter plus 8 masks (1230hrs). The water was murky with a lot of plant debris (after a heavy downpour in the morning). In certain areas, for example near construction sites, pontoons of the OnePA boat site and others, excessive littering was evident (see photos). Litter picked up consists mainly of plastic items, tennis balls, nerf gun bullets, wine bottles and in particular, an old motor oil bottle (no oil leak observed). Another group of 3 members did a simple boat ride at Jurong Lake in a different time (1530hrs). They hung up publicity posters at our office before moving out for patrol (see photos). About 4 kg of litter was picked up by the group, including 3 cans, 1 mask and the rest were all plastics (see photos).They spotted one dead animal body floating before the New bridge near the science center, looking like an otter or wild boar (see photo).
