Dear Friends,
Last week, the Waterways Watch Society did not have any physical activity as we are still in ‘phase 2’. . Only one admin staff and one operational staff did housekeeping at Kallang HQ daily. On Monday and Wednesday, we did a dry run of the virtual program with MCCY and EMPACT.
There was no weekend patrol over the weekend. At Kallang, two members came to do some gardening maintenance on Saturday and Sunday. One driver came on Sunday to warm up the boats. One member who did her leisure ride on Saturday, spotted oil spills along Kallang River and Geylang River, and a broken tree in Ang Mo Kio Town Garden (see photos). The oil spill cases have been reported to PUB (see photos) and the damaged tree to NParks. There was also plenty of litter thrown outside the dustbin in the areas around Helix Bridge- sighted on Sunday. (see photos).
On Wednesday, 2 members checked the Punggol Office and boat maintenance (see photos). Another member came down on Saturday to check office.
At Lakeside, 1 member did a simple bike recce and 2 members warmed up boats (Thursday) and 2 came to repair pontoon lock on Sunday. (see photos).
