This week, we gave two Assembly Talk to Nan Hua Primary School, a total of 240 students; and we also did WWS ICCS with 32 members. This was a sadly very successful coastal cleanup with 32 members collecting about 1300kg of litter within 2 hrs (see photos). When will we ever see a clean Beach??
On Wednesday, 3 members did boat patrol and some housekeeping at Punggol. There was every few litter in the about, they only picked up about 0.5kg and the water level was very low in the waterways (see photos).
The Saturday patrol at Kallang and Punggol were canceled due to the WWS ICCS, but on Sunday morning, 10 members did foot patrol at Marina Reservoir in two groups (see photos). On Sunday, the reservoir’s water and water bank areas were generally clean. However, at the duck tours vicinity area, members noticed water pooling and the water level was high in the drainage, suspected drainage chock (see photos). At the area under the Benjamin Shears bridge, there were some unwanted cans, empty used bottles, and other new water bottles. All been picked up by our members. One used mask was found at Helix Bridge and YOG park respectively (see photo). There was no patrol at lakeside however three members did housekeeping and wash the boats.
