Dear Friends,

Total of 12 programs covering more than 2000 participants, 5 safety boat and 20 new members this week!

Post School holidays and we are back to full-swing. This week Waterways had four school assembly talks, for Ahmad Ibrahim Primary School (1200 pax), Casuarina Primary School (284 pax), Woodlands Secondary School (20 pax) and Kranji Secondary School (300 pax). Other than that, we also delivered one WWE at Yishun Pond for 20 students from Woodlands Secondary School, and one beach clean-up for 284 students from Casuarina Primary School. As for water activities, we had one Pedal-Boat Waterway for Hach (9 pax), one Kayak Waterway Clean-up programs for Ngee Ann Poly (24 pax), one for Empact (20 pax) and two for OBS Camp (100 pax). Additionally, we had a Coney Island program for AXA (60 pax), and a CLC talk at Punggol for 30.

CEO and Wai Tong attended the OBS Outdoor Education Conference at ITE and we had a recce done with OBS Alumni (SHINE) on their August public event with us. During the week, we passed our PUB Audit also.

Engagement in Fishing continues. We had one sighting at Kallang (engaged) and quite a few around Jurong Lakeside Gardens this week. For Anti-Littering, a total of 22 engagement done with another 2 on smoking(see photos). All complied when politely engaged.

This week, we collected a total of 162.5 kg. For PMDs and PABs we continue to see many speeding and we await LTA clarification regarding taking down of personal particulars when engaged in non-compliance or dangerous riding. This is important to our Volunteer’s contribution. For cyclist, we still see on the main road riding more than two abreast – three and often occupying a whole lane (see photos).

Punggol held two patrols during the weekdays, five members involved and for the weekend, it was a bumper week. A total of 15 new members joined at Marina and 5 at Punggol. All three branches- Marina, Punggol and Lakeside Gardens- had patrols sent out: 38 at Marina, 15 at Punggol and 12 members did the first Bike and Boat patrol at Jurong Lakeside Gardens.

It was encouraging to see so much interest and support by members. Thank you everyone (see photos).

We will be organising our official launch of Lakeside Garden Branch on 18th August 2019.
