Dear Friends,
We have ended our first week of the Chinese Lunar New Year (Dog Year) with one school kayaking programme with Damai Secondary (40 pax), two school assembly talks (one with Greenridge Primary Environmental Club (30 students), and another with Global Indian International School – 350 pax), one bike and foot waterway Clean-Up programme with 37 ANZA Scouts, two meetings (with CEO of Gardens by the Bay and PUB DY Director), 7 days support service for CNY Fireworks and 2 safety boat duties throughout this week. Our CEO, Eugene Heng also attended the UN GEO meeting organised by MEWR. We also had our usual weekend patrols for Marina and Punggol. Weekend patrol had 24 members present and 3 new members doing orientation. Some Gardening work was also done on saturday. Our Punggol staff also did two weekday patrols (6 pax). There were no engagement with fishermen this week and only one anti-littering engagement. However, our volunteers engaged one Chinese family of three feeding tortoise @ E7-3/W-215 lamp post (Punggol).
We also received news of another sponsorship from OCBC WeCare Grant for our Punggol Bike Program. Our Punggol office had our flooring finally done for the Container Office and we hope to bring in the Container by mid-March.
