“Back to work, back to keeping SG clean!”

Dear Friends,

We hope that everyone has enjoyed the festivities over Chinese New Year. We sure did here at Waterways Watch Society.

We are starting to have more and more volunteers returning to support us (perhaps to lose those extra calories? ^_^). We also have more companies and organisations, both returning and new, enquiring with us on our programmes. We are thankful for all the support from our corporate and school partners. If you feel that our programmes have been impactful, please share them with others.

Moving on to the clean ups, we hosted a group of foreign students and some participants on their Singapore Journey, raking a total of 32kg from their efforts. Our 50 members also managed a total of 80kg of trash; something we keep saying is a bitter-sweet moment – while we are glad to clear more and make our waters clean, it’s heartbreaking to keep seeing the unending amount of trash in a first-world country.  To make it more embarrassing, this year we celebrate 60 years of Independence!
