“Wishing all a Prosperous Chinese New Year”

Dear Friends,

Waterways Watch Society wishes all our partners, members & supporters a happy & prosperous Chinese New Year.
Lets not forget to include in our resolutions one that will help keep our Singapore Clean and Safe Always!

During this season, most are probably away or busy spring cleaning. We have less events (especially so close to our post Christmas and New Year Celebrations), but our member patrols are still ongoing and just look at the amount of rubbish they are still picking up. The roles of our cleaning contractor partners (and friends) are never-ending as well, even as we take a break. As you see them along the way, we hope that you take the time to appreciate them during this season.

Even though it is just before another celebratory season, we had a huge turnout of volunteers to help out this weekend, together with some new volunteers who joined our recent orientation. We warmly welcome back our veterans and welcome our new joiners! They also put in much effort to bring in a total of 105kg. Excellent work. You will also note that a number of our regular volunteers are seniors.

We want to encourage everyone that protecting our water resources does not start and stop at WWS. As how WWS puts it across to our participants, you can do your part this Chinese New Year to:-

  • Refuse non-essential packaging and items
  • Rethink and reuse red packets & snack containers
  • Reduce water usage and waste generation
