Dear Friends,
It is Training Week This Week for Waterways Watch!
It is a quieter week for us in terms of CSR, but we made full use of our time to engage and appreciate our fellow staff, members and facilitators who have contributed significantly to our cause. On Tuesday, we held an annual review session with 28 of them followed by a simple Christmas lunch. During this slow week, we also took the time to have fun and learn at the different ABC parks around Singapore to keep ourselves updated with the features so that we can continue to deliver excellent activities for all our clients. We visited Coney Island, Punggol Waterways and Chinese Garden.
We have not relaxed on our CSRs too, hosting 3 companies and collecting over 150kg of trash from Marina Reservoir in the later part of the week. We are also seeing a huge increase of trash on land and more illegal activities (like fishing and more syringes being picked-up), especially during this holiday and festive season. Could there be a correlation? How can we engage one another to be responsible park users and to protect our waterways? If engagement is not working, when will more enforcement step in?
