Dear Friends,
OVERVIEW
Based on our observation, Singapore seems numb to this predicament, continuing to throw away significant amounts of food and drinks. After a recent public event (see photos above), we could see evidence of edible food packs and drinks lying around in waste. Cartons of 1.5-litre bottles of 100 Plus and mineral water were left abandoned. Although eventually cleared by cleaners, it was not a pleasant sight in the interim. (Sunday, 6th. Kampong Bugis).
Event organisers lack both social responsibility and environmental care. Empathy and humility appear absent and public events like this do not reflect an ideal image of Singapore.
Public Events should, and must be better managed. If not, permission for such events should be denied.
