OVERVIEW
It was another active week for Waterways. While it was unfortunate some programmes were affected by the wet weather.
The week’s highlight was our participation in the safety boat for the Meta Sports 101 International event at Marina Bay. All 6 boats were involved over the weekend commencing from Friday.
We even had a WWS team participate in the duathlon event: Gan, Kenny and Fabian (our intern). Congrats to our team.
We also had special guests visit our garden on Sunday afternoon: a pair of hornbills; they enjoyed the free-flow jambu from our garden- now bare!
Summary of activities conducted over last week:
In summary, the following activities were done for this weeks:
- We conducted 2 CSR and 1 VIA programme which were attended by 53 participants and 36 participants respectively, and together they collected a total of 133 kg of litter.
- A total of 18 members were involved in CSR/VIA programmes and talks; another 69 members turned up for patrols, administration, housekeeping duties and training.
- The total trash collected by patrol groups from members was 48 kg .
- Boat Patrol. A total of 3 Boat patrols were carried out; 2 at Punggol and 1 at Lakeside
- Bike Patrol. A total of 5 Bike patrols were carried out; 2 at Marina, 2 at Punggol and 1 at Lakeside.
- Pedal boat Patrol. 2 Pedal Boat patrols were conducted; 1 at Marina and 1 at Lakeside.
- Housekeeping and Maintenance: 6 members helped with the re-alignment of Jurong Lake pontoon
- Garden crew was down in full force on Sunday.
