Dear Friends,

Overview

This week was special. It was World Water Day and we were proud to be invited by PUB to participate in the launch at Jurong Lakeside. Our CEO was also invited on stage together with President Tharman, Minister Grace Fu and fellow partners to do the actual launch on Saturday 9th. March 2024. We had a booth with 13 members present including a pedal boat clean-up patrol with 5 other members. Thank you all for supporting this event.

In addition to this we had safety boat duties during the day (for kayak and dragon boating students) and nite duty for a drone show by MBS besides our usual schools and corporate programmes.

Fishing outside the restricted zones is still being observed and many student age groups. Use of live baits is still being seen and we continue to engage whenever possible. We also reported illegal hawking by a foreigner on a bicycle in the Kallang Riverside Park area on Sunday.

SFA has been informed of this.

The month of March continues to be active especially with schools because of World Water Day Month. To welcome this special month, WWS sighted a Golden Tortoise in the Kallang basin- a symbol of Longevity, Perseverance, Harmony, Good Luck & Good Health. (see photos below).
