Dear Friends,
OVERVIEW
“1000 Special”
It’s our 1000th Weekly Report! We are thrilled to mark the New Year of the Dragon with a dazzling Golden Nugget Exhibit displayed right outside our office’s main entrance. We feel immensely grateful for our exceptional team—comprising dedicated full-time and part-time volunteers, as well as members. Without your unwavering passion and interest, we wouldn’t have achieved the success we celebrate today! Heartfelt appreciation goes out to all our past and present partners for your continuous support. Here’s to many more years of progress together. Our steadfast commitment to our goals and mission remains unchanged: fostering a Clean and Safe Environment for Singapore!
Summary of Activities conducted for the Week
In summary, the following activities were done for this week:
- We conducted 4 CSR and 0 VIA programs which were attended by 580 participants, and together they collected a total of 107 kg of litter. Special thanks to MBS who invited us to participate in their sustainable day at MBS. We engaged easily over 500 employees in the 5 hours there. Overall, it was still considered a slow week for us, this being the early part of 2024. We expect the next 2-3 weeks to be the norm with CNY round the corner.
- This week a total of 72 members were involved in CSR/VIA programs, talk, patrols, administration, housekeeping duties, and training.
- The total trash collected by the patrol groups was 75 kg.
- Boat Patrol. 5 boat patrols were carried out; 2 at Marina, 2 at Punggol, and 1 at Jurong Lakeside.
- Bike Patrol. A total of 4 Bike patrols were carried out; 2 at Marina, 2 at Punggol, and 1 at Jurong Lakeside.
- Pedal boat Patrol. A total of 2 Pedal Boat patrols were carried out; all at Marina.
- Foot Patrol. No footpatrol was carried out.
Once again, we sincerely thank all members and volunteers, who came for patrol or for facilitating the CSR/VIA programs, for your time and dedication to the task. Without your support we would not have been able to achieve this. Special mention to the teachers of Pathlight who came down in strength to participate in our kayak cleanup programme. Three cheers to the teachers, students and our facilitators! Young and old, we all must care for our environment. Sustainability is the only way forward.
