OVERVIEW
“Looking Forward to the New Year 2023 with much less Littering Please!”
It was a quiet week because it was the last week of 2022. We only conducted the following clean-up activities; one CSR programme, a Pedal Boat clean up for participants from Singtel and two Member Patrols, one each at Punggol and Jurong Lakeside Garden. An in-house kayak training session was also conducted for L1 Coaches. The weekend patrols at Marina, Punggol, Lakeside Garden and Pang Sua Pond were closed for the holidays. However, we took the opportunity of the downtime to clean up and clear our Vegetable Garden and fix a completely new fence from recycled materials (painted as well) around the plot (see photos). Thank you to Philip, Gan, Alvin and Ben for coming down with the CEO.
Nevertheless, we can look back on the year 2022 with nostalgia; as reported in the earlier report we managed to conduct 404 CSR/VIA programmes and talks. It was not an easy achievement for us considering the Covid-19 situation and a long period of adjustment for all to the new normal in the society and the economic environment. Our volunteers and members soldiered on with the same gusto and passion. With these recollections and reminiscence, we can only strive to do better for the new year, 2023!
Summary of Activities conducted for the Week
The following activities were done for the week:
- 1 CSR programme was attended by 9 participants and they collected a total of 25 kg of litter. Thank you Singtel for supporting us on this last working day of 2022.
- This week a total of 13 members were involved for CSR/VIA programmes, talk, patrols, administration, housekeeping duties and training and, the total trash collected = 37 kg.
- Boat Patrol. We conducted 1 Boat Patrol at Punggol Waterways.
- Bike Patrol. No Bike Patrol was carried out.
- Foot Patrol. We conducted 2 Foot Patrols; one at Punggol and one at Jurong Lakeside Garden
- Pedal boat Patrol. No Pedal Boat patrol was conducted.
Once again, we thank all members and volunteers, who came for patrol or for facilitating the CSR/VIA programmes, for your time and dedication to the task.
