Dear Friends,
This week was another quiet week for WWS, no program was done as all were cancelled. We completed our PUB audit for Kallang and Punggol and for Jurong we had our kayak renewal survey done by appointed scf vendor.
We also held our first online meeting with Admin member to discuss our operation during this special period using Google Hangouts. Due to the situation on COVIN-19 in Singapore as shared by MOH, WWS decided to cancel all weekend duties for two weeks, starting from this week. Moreover, in order to minimise the risk of unnecessary exposure we agreed that the WWS admin team would work from home from Friday 26th. March. We will however have daily Google Hangout meetings from monday at 1400hrs.
On Friday, four members did a boat patrol at Punggol Waterways after the PUB audit and also did pontoon maintenance (see photo). During the patrol, members collected 0.5kg of plastic litter from the water. Under the LRT track, they found one fishing hook with live bait was tied by the side of the railing (see photo). One life buoy was loose at the boardwalk (see photo). No wildlife spotted. On Sunday, three members did housekeeping at Jurong Lakeside Garden office and warmed up boats. Going forward no more patrols are planned and housekeeping where necessary will be limited to 2-3 members each time.
