Dear friends,
We had a slow start this week after the 1st week of Chinese New Year. In total, we managed to roll-out 7 programmes of which 6 were school programmes and 1 under other programmes. We had 2 Kayak Cleanup programmes with Damai Secondary School and 3 assembly talks for Fernvale Primary School, Sembawang Primary and Global Indian International School and 1 KRILL session for Regent Secondary School. We had a L.O.V.E Punggol Bike Trail at our Punggol branch on Sunday as well. This week, we managed to collect a total of 32KG of litter(Amount collected during programmes and patrols), where 70% are of plastic origin. We did 8 safety boat during the week. This weekend, our Buggy also encountered some problems and now not in operation- pending repair. We had recently renewed our lease for Kallang and we thank MEWR for their great support.
This week we had a total of 46 members involved in patrols and programmes. This includes 7 new members (6 for Marina and 1 for Punggol). We had bike patrols on both Saturday and Sunday at Marina and a boat Weekday patrol in our Punggol branch. We had no fishing engagements but did 42 anti-littering engagements this week. On Sunday, members present had a simple Loh Hei Lunch at the office.
This week, one of our new members picked up a $2 note near Singapore flyer during patrol in Marina.
Containers containing chilled bottled waters are found near the first public toilet in Kallang Riverside Park.
