This week, we had a slow week but we managed a corporate booth and talk at their family day for 200 pax, 2 CSR on foot for 60 pax, an MPA talk, 1 L.O.V.E at Punggol and an LTA Refresher Course for our 15 of our volunteers. We also had 3 safety boat duties at Kallang. In total, we collected up to 67 KG of litter this week, where more than 70% were of plastic origin.
This weekend 21 members did duty at Marina and 3 at Punggol. Garden crew was present on Sunday. Weekday punggol had two additional patrols involving 2 of our members. During the week, we encountered a “cheeky” fisherman who told our volunteer when engaged to ‘go do more volunteer work with children’. He was wearing a Fishing T-Shirt (reported to PUB). Also a few sighted at Sungei Kallang, Flyer, and Marina Bay fishing even with clear signages of NO FISHING. PMDs are the most sighted and often they are speeding and definitely above 15 km in Kallang and Punggol.
During our members patrol, one of our members picked up a ladies shoe and a bicycle seat from the waters.
In total, we did 54 anti-littering engagements and 4 Fishing engagements this week.
