Dear Friends,
It was another great week. WWS managed three River Monster Junior (RMJr) for Stamford American International School (total of 135 juniors), a pedal boat programme for Anderson Secondary School (10 pax), one Corporate programme for new client New Park Hotel (25 pax) on bike, another NVPC program on Kayak (40 pax but 34 individuals turn-up) and one beach clean-up with OCBC (100 pax but less than 40 turn-up). There were four safety boat support services during the week. Total litter collected for the week was 301.59kg including 257.09 Kg at by OCBC Beach Clean-Up.
During the weekend, we had total of 39 members with 5 new members doing orientation. Punggol did two weekday patrols however there was no patrol on Sunday (only admin).
A total of 3 individuals were engaged in fishing. One was engaged at Rochor River (Chinese) and two advised by WWS members on bike patrol (Chinese at Kallang MRT). All complied. Boat patrol sighted PUB boat doing fishing engagement below Sheares Bridge on Sunday (well done!).
There was no anti-littering engagement done this weekend. However, our Sunday patrol team sighted over 80 shared bikes left randomly and irresponsibly. This scene is unsightly/ dangerous (see photos).
PMDs in park are still our highest concern for the safety of other park. Electric scooters are often seen speeding with passenger.
Our weekend Bike Patrol reported illegal storage above the underpass of Sir Arthurs Bridge (see photos).
We appreciate PHC coming down to observe our River Monster Junior Programme. There may he some opportunity to work together with PHC in a sustainable meaningful manner.
